Trim Roses and Fertilize??

Is now a good time to trim rose bushes? Also would now be a good time to put down some winterizer fertilizer? Or is it still a little early.

I trimmed my roses back already. I'm waiting a little to bundle them with leaves. Ive got some rose plants at my house that the eldery lady that previously owned the house has had for years and years. One plant she claims was her mothers, putting it at 100 years old. The rest of mine have "Jackson-Perkins" serial tags affixed to the roots. She wrote instructions down for me to follow on the care of the plants.

She had 29 rose bushes when we bought the house, I was able to save or give away most when we did some landscaping.
