waxworm09
I have never used this brand, but I am curious if anyone recommends them? I was looking at the hevi shot 3" 4 shot to use the rest of the year for ducks and pheasants, I like to use steel on pheasants also. I read somewhere that hevi shot size 4 is equivilent to steel 2 shot? Also the hevi shot pheasant load is exactly the same as the waterfowl, except the pheasant load is 1 1/8 oz compared to 1 1/4 waterfowl, everything else is identical. Is it just a marketing ploy to sell the "pheasant load" since on the pheasant box it even says "25 waterfowl shells"? I dont like to spend 22 bucks on a box of shells, but they have a $10 rebate going on, so for 12 bucks I would like to give them a try. waxworm09
And also if anyone has any other recommendations on an all around load for waterfowl and pheasants that would be appreciated!
carpshooterdeluxe
And also if anyone has any other recommendations on an all around load for waterfowl and pheasants that would be appreciated! Federal speed shok steel 3" 3's will take care of any ducks or roosters inside 40 yards. $9.99 a box. If it can kill a mallard, it will kill a rooster. If you want a spendy but hard hitting tungsten load, remington HD #6's will have more retained velocity, energy, and ballistic gel penetration at 40 yards than a steel #2 when both are launched at the same initial velocity.Occasionally, I will load a 3.5" wingmaster HD #2 as my 3rd shot for late season roosters...those public land birds that love to flush at 50 yards and go straight away...bam bam POW. Down goes the parrot.
