2005 can am

On my 2005 atv when I start the atv the miles show up on my dash, but when I start to go ahead where the miles read it will change to fail. the miles keep go up as I drive it but I don't see them till I stop the atv. Then when I start going ahead again it changes to fail again. When I back up the miles still show.

Is there any way other then taking it to a dealer to get it fixed?

I have an 05 400 and had it come up also. If I remember right it was a maintenance reminder and I ended up taking it into the dealer to reset it. At the time I didn't try to find out if there was a way to reset it since it was under warranty but maybe a search on one of the many ATV sites will turn something up. I know there are dedicated Can am forums.

Thanks for the come back. Found out it was the voltage regulator.
