95 skeeter trolling motor power panel question

MegaHawk

Question

I recently bought a 95 skeeter 190 zx. the panel that has the trollin motor wire and the on board charger on it has something wrong with it.i am wondering if i can just remove the panel wires and run the charger wires directly to my batteries and not have any issues? the switch on the panel is bad for shure and the fuse things might have issues. there is no power getting through the panel. if i take the panel out o the equasion everything works.

what im gunna end up doing is bypassing the panel but putting 40 amp in line fuses in each positive wire off the charger and i have a seperate inline fuse for the trollin motor positive wire. should work alright. then ill just leave the panel up for looks.

I don't know the setup, but be advised that many panels and or the wiring therein also facilitate/control 12V or 24V operation. Wouldn't want to send 24V (assumuing you have multiple batteries) to any 12V items.

the panel run 24 or 36 volts to trollin motor only, the light thats on the panel is ran off the crankin battery. which that battery is brand new and is a joke. guy bought it the morning before I came to buy the boat. he bought the smallest one possible.
