I went with the Humminbird 596c hd di after my Lowrance X102 died (very common power button issue) and Lowrance refused to do anything about it. Not to mention having to replace the transducer twice in the three years I had it....

The nice thing about the humminbird is that you still have traditional sonar along with the down imaging. I could be wrong but i think the lowrance unit is only down imaging.

I have only been out once with the new unit but so far I really like it. The down imaging is awesome for helping to identify bottom composition. Itis also nice to be able to have down imaging and traditional sonar on the same screen...
