Whats the best way to get rid of these ants that come up thru cracks in cement and make these sand mounds and what kind of ants are they called. I bot a proucted called Dominion 2l it kills the larger black ants but not these others. My patio pavers are getting uneaven so something has to be done before I have to redo my patio.I live in Grand Rapids Mn.area.

First identify what kind of ant it is. take a piece of tape and stick an ant to it then onto a sheet of paper and investigate. Determine what kind of ant it is and let us know.

Also if ants are coming up through your pavers that tells me your patio wasn't installed correctly. A correctly installed patio whould have no ants or bugs able to come up thought it.

I have those little guys, too. I've used Sevin for years...the powder you sprinkle on. Sevin also come as a liquid. Doesn't hurt the grass, either. These are actually named "Little Black Ants", Monomorium Minimum.
