Night Fishing....

So due to a buddys bachelor party on sat. afternoon, I will be tryi0ng my luck at some midnight fishing. Just wanna look for a few pointers on what tactics to get after some eyes. Thinking maybe doing some bobberfishing on a couple point and sand flats and such. I want to try trolling cranks this year also, is this an efective tactic this early in othe year? What type of cranks and how deep should a guys be trying at midnight? Thanks for any info....

One thing you can try just about all year long is long line trolling shallow flats with minnowbaits like Rapala original floaters or husky jerks. Let out at least 100 ft of line and move fairly slow. Vary your speed until they tell you what they want. Sometimes adding a planer board to move it away from the boat can help if they're spooky.

Thanks what is considered slow? 1-1.5 mph?

Yes, that would be a good place to start. Sometimes even a little slower, like maybe .8 but often times low 1's should do the trick.

Shallow water going 1.4-1.8 mph will get you bit. I really like the 11 & 13 floating raps for this time of year. But rattlin rogue floaters work well at time too.
