Ice conditions

Recommended Posts

Just got back from a warm water vacation and was wondering what the conditions are like out there. Anyone got any advice before I pack up everything and drive around checking? I figured the fishing would be done but sounds like it was pretty cold this past week around here. Spring Cedar Prior Waconia Tonka? How far north does a guy need to go to get fishable ice?

Thanks

Went out on the south end of cedar, take cty rd 2 to the little housing development on the north side of the road and there will be cars parked where one can walk out. about 2 feet of ice still and the fish were biting like crazy!

South end?

I have never tried down there. I always fish the north end off the point and catch tons of crappies, not very big but fun to catch. I don't want your spot but about how far of a walk is it, I will have my son with me and grumbles because I make him help pull the sled.

Thanks

the walk from the road is maybe 50 yards or so and then its however far out you wanna walk on to the lake, im guessing there will be a bunch of people out again tomorrow so if your heading out then you should be able to see whats goin on.....
