Lake Miltona Fishing

Lake Miltona

With the temps close to zero, or below zero, all last week and weekend it made for cold days on the ice. Temps below normal generally don't make for better fishing through the month of March. But all it takes is a few days above normal and watch out panfish. March, a month of fishing without fishouses, supposedly. Soon enough it will happen, then spring will be here, and then boats. Can't think of boats yet with two feet of ice, so let's hope for some nice temps and get after Crappies and Sunfish. The Panfish have been abundent below the ice and tricking them to eat has been work, but they have to eat, so keep changing jigs and bait often to keep it new and simple. Fish in the shallows are becoming the choice, due to being able to sight fish for them in depths of 4 to 8 feet. Drill 15 holes and look, but choose wisely, there may be a keeper in the first or last one. Hard work and patience will be rewarded.
