Down Deep
Time will ultimately take care of the situation....but, in the mean time I'd just pick it up and sling it back across the street. If your town has a leash law call the police when the dog is out. Life in suburbia is great. This is kind of a gross story, but I once had the opposite happen. I'd let my dog out in the back yard every morning before I'd go to work. I'd stand on the patio and watch her so she always stayed where she belonged. I repeated the process when I returned home at the end of the day. The thing that was puzzling was that I never had to pick up a pile. I knew something was getting it, but never did see anything and I knew the wife would never do it. After about 5 years I was peering out the window at the backyard and saw the culprit. It was a big golden retriever. I knew it wasn't good for the dog and started looking around the neighborhood for the dog, but never could find it. I started picking up after my dog when I could, but I have to wear a suit to work and I'm not going to walk around the wet grass or in snow everyday so I couldn't get it most days. This lasted about another 3 or 4 years.
