Okay, I was only able to get out on Saturday. Weather was pretty much cold and wet. My brother took my boy out with a couple of friends. Caught a huge crappie and some small 'eyes. Went out again to see if we could catch more crappies, but nothin' doin'.

Went out again around 4 pm and fished the rock pile by Battle Island. Nothing but northerns there. Decided to try the river one more time before dark. WHOOPIE! Glad we did. Caught around 30 walleyes between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Kept about six in the basket. What a blast. They were biting very light and we had to let them run with it for a while before setting the hook. Used plain colored hooks and light split shot.
