Lake Lida

Whats the story on the finikey (spell) bite on this lake been there numerous times this year and have yet to pull a crappie out of the lake seen a few caught but i thought id ask.

I was out there this afternoon and it was definately slow. Brought a camera along today to try and see what was going on that the flasher wasnt showing me. My youngest son caught 1 foot long crappie and the only other fish we saw on camera were gills and itty bitty perch. Could have caught a hundred 5 inch gills. Even fish that came in 5 feet off the bottom and just hovered in front of the bait but not hit it, I would have sworn were crappies but the camera showed them to be 6" gills. the one and only crappie hit a minnow under a bobber, 2 feet off bottom. So, not sure what is up with the bite but after today I think there are alot less crappie swimming in that hole than I thought based on the flasher alone. My 2 cents. Smitty

thanks for the info...marked all kinds of fish and would have thought they were crappies as well...any idea of any fish bitting on franklin or is it time to chase some eyes

my opinion is this lake is great for early ice and late ice. I leave it alone once the traffic (driving out and such) starts. I never have had much luck in between that time frame.
