chains slipping

Powder

Recommended Posts

Last year I bought a used 4 wheeler and it came with chains but today was the first time I have tried to use them. When I put them on and tried to use them they seem to slip off and go to the inside. I'm assuming that's because I don't have them tight enough? Also, I've see guys put a bungy strap on the outside, would this help tighten them up and keep them from slipping to the inside?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sounds like the chains are too loose. I would take the tire/wheels off the machine, deflate the tires and try to move up as many links as possible.

Bungy straps will help keep them tighter also. Make sure to tie off any extra links or tag ends so they don't swing around and damage anything on the machine. Zip ties work great for this.
