MNMike, in your SI screenshot, would the sandbar be the lighter colored bottom and the mud the darker stuff nearer the top of the screen? I really have no experience with SI, so I'm eager to learn what I can.

rooten, I'm thinking I'd like to make a rig similar to yours when I get set to use my 788 more extensively. For now, it's just rigged up for use in my truck.

Just got my ice ducer today. Can't wait to try it tomorrow. Heres a few picks of what I rigged uo. The bag is a big C soft sided tackle box for 4 plastic lure boxes. I put a wood bottom in it to make it rigid and mounted the finder mount to it then put in some wood strips for the battery.

boker, that is a pretty cool rig. I like that it's compact and looks like a soft lunch box. It doesn't scream "STEAL ME! QUICK!"

Thanks Tom. Never realized it will be less thief friendly. I tried my ducer in a bucket with minnows and it wasn't reading depth right but it was marking the minnows. I hope it just was just because the signal doesn't travel right off of plastic.

Also does the ducer normally click when submerged? It seamed loud and I would think that might scare fish away. Maybe just loud due to being in a bucket.

Thanks. I used it today and it worked great. Beats the 1970's marcum I was using by a long shot.
