DRH1175
The back half of my 2 acre lot has trees planted all over the place. It is a wild piece of property. Though the trees and wild are nice. I would like to clear and grub part of it to add more lawn. What is the best way to do it? If I rent a chipper and stump grinder it would still cost close to $600 and I would still have to do the work by myself. Anybody know of a better way that wouldn't cost a fortune? croixflats
How big are the trees you want removed? If the majority are smaller you could rent a Bobcat and yank them out or plow them over or dig them out with a U blade or the bucket of the machine. A bobcat will run around $175 to $200 a day. After the trees are out use a grader attachment to run back and fourth smoothing the grade and removing smaller stumps and roots. With 2 attachments, Grader bar and a U blade and bucket you should be able to take care of everything. Some places charge $50 extra for each attachment. Then a chipper will run you around $200 a day.I guess the bobcat way be the best depending on how proficient you are running one.
