Renewed the registration for one of my boats today and was unpleasantly surprised. Not only did the fee go to $20.50 for a 14' Lund (including $5 Exotic Aquatic Surcharge, and $1.50 Filing Fee) the registration decals and the registration "card" are trashy computer generated stickers that are barely legible. I'm supposed to carry the "card" whenever I use the boat, so normal wear will destroy any opportunity to use it if I should transfer ownership. Isn't technology wonderful?

If you think the computer generated portable ice house tags are fragile and difficult to read, wait til you renew a boat registration with the DNR's new computer system.

We pay more and more, but it looks like less and less.
