newbie question

the minimum amount of snow necessary is inversly proportionate to how late in the season the snow comes. wink

But, in all seriousness, it's whatever amount you feel like riding in. If it's 4 inches or less, it will be a considerably more "jarring" ride. Like the previous poster stated, if it's just a sprinkling, your hyfax and wearrods will wear out faster. I've seen tracks in 1 inch of snow around Hugo before.

depends on what you have --

If you have a 1979 AC Jag 3000 then one inch is OK in my book. Does no "damage" to the sled or the ditches. If you have a 2005 700 XC SP with studs then I would wait for 3 + inches, but that is just me on my sleds.

If I was my kids and they were still 7 and had our 120 I would drive it on the grass.

Clear as mud?

Just my $1.25
