Hopefully soon we will have them in Duluth. I know there has been 2 doves in Grand Rapids last year and 2 years ago one was spotted near the UMD campus. Great photo!

Are these really wild birds or are they escapes or releases?

Eurasian Collared doves were introduced initially in the Bahamas in the early 1970s. It has been expanding its range rapidly ever since it hit our mainland. In the late 80's it made it to Florida, and is now being reported in Minnesota. It made is quite a ways in the last 10-15 years.

Come to south central Mn (Willmar) lots of them. They sound like a cross between a pidgeon and a dove.
