Iceland Gull photos

This is a first year or first cycle Iceland Gull seen today at Wisconsin Point. I seen it several times fly into Minnesota and took some quick photos of the gull. These are not artistic photos but purely ID photos to share with you all. I was using the sports mode on the Canon EOS XSI to capture these photos from a distance of about 300 yards.

What makes this a Iceland Gull is that there is no second bar on mantle and the tail is translucent and not very dark. Thayer's Gulls in this plumage look almost the same except the primaries are darker, they have a second bar on mantle and the tail is much darker. Some people would love to see these gull lumped into one species but so far they are still two distinct species.
