Hello,

I spend most of my time in the hunting and fishing areas, but I have found my way here. This year I have really started taking alot of photo and video in the woods. Right now I am using a regular old digital camera. I have been toying with the idea of getting a dslrs camera. I enjoy testing the limits of my point and shoot, but there are only so many ways you can "trick" it into letting in more light and such. I am thinking of buying something used due to the fact that I have a $500 budget. I was looking at a Canon 350d with some accessories for around $380, then I noticed that Nikon has the D50 and others in the $600 range, but then I would be looking at buying some accessories and raising the cost. I am hesitant to drop a bunch of cash on a hobby that I may not get hooked on

I am looking for some guidance as to where I should look for a deal.

What should I look for in a used camera?

Is it worth it to go new?

What are some good cameras to look at? (Good selection of lenses, accessories, and parts)

I have read through most of the recent posts here, and on other digital SLRS sites. I would like to stay digital as well. Any advice would be great.
