Bullheads - cutbait

Can one use a bullhead larger then 7" for cut bait? I know it must be 7" or less to be used as live bait, but does this still apply for cut bait.

yes you can! All bullhead are considered rough fish, and unless specifically stated otherwise (such as with carp), rough fish may be used for cut bait.

That is what I thought. Just wanted to make sure before I went out with a bunch of bullheads. Thanks.

You're not supposed to transport them alive if they are the larger ones for cutbait though.

This is one of those things that if you follow the letter of the law gets sticky. Bull heads are classified as rough fish, game fish, and minnows. There is no limit on rough fish, but there is a limit of 100 on bullheads, and you are not suppose to use parts of game fish for bait.
