Using a Fluke Meter

Recommended Posts

Seem to be experience a brain fart...when I OHM a motor, should there be any "movement" in the numbers. I have a bad window motor I think, I have 12 volts to the motor from the switches but nothing is happening with the motor. When I ohm the motor out, my numbers move all over the screen. I'm guessing this is not normal??

Thanks

You would be correct. It is not normal. Make sure only one of the wires has power to it in the up position and the other in the down position. I like to stick the probes in the connector and do the test above. That way I can make sure it is grounding at the same time.

Usually you can whack the motor with the switch in either position and get it to work.
