  1. so then if you brake your line are you chumming and or littering you are tossing something into the water
  2. i use a 5 gal bucket with holes drilled in it. dump all in the pail put lid on and walk away all but chubs swim out or get eaten by the chubs. i have a 200 gal tank and this way the chubs don't jump out or eat all my other minnows
  3. I would try the night fishing thing it has workked for me in the past they will come in to the weeds to feed at night if there is any inlet to the lake that would be a good place to try. the wind blowen side can be good at night to

    fireline question

a drop of super glue on your knot will stop the line from spinning on the spool
  5. i started with the dark green as a base and just made random cattail type strips on the sides in brown tan and black and it looks really good don't use a lot of black but some adds a look of shadows
  6. well i can tell you this you can hunt ducks over anything that floats and is close to the size and shape of a duck if you are in a spot the ducks want to be. as a kid i was hunting a dead river by and old dump site. i tossed out some old booze bottles and they broke up the floting duck weed stuff enough it looked like ducks and trails in the green stuff and the woodies and teal came right in. I wouldn't throw trash in the water anymore but i really didn't think much of it then. so it might not matter what you hunt over.
  7. i got a leech lake as a gift this year and as sead before a work of art cleaned 11 eyes with it so far and it works great
  8. well i was out fishing all day and the perm that was next to me the door was open and swinging in the wind all day. so before i left i took a look and the house was full of really nice stuff and the door was locked it must not have latched so i made sure it latched this time. i did move the vex just to mess with them a little
  9. from what i have been told you should stop one shy and then you can keep fishing so the worst that happens is you go home one shy. i don't target one fish very often so i end up with a mixed bag. so i don't know how they can say what you are after if you have got three kinds of fish out of the same hole
  10. sometimes if you shim the back side of the blades they will cut better i cut a strip from a pop can and put it under the back edge of the blades on mine
  11. if it was me i would look for a good used power auger for my first toy and maybe put the money you save on a flasher but the auger would be nice unless you only drill one or two holes a day good luck and have fun

    Propane Bases

i have been thinking about this and i think if you took a butter bowl and cut the bottom to fit and put the tank through it with the bowl upside down it would work better than the base that they sell because the support would be higher on the tank to help it from tiping over just a thought i had have not tried it yet
  13. if you use a minnow trap and leave it under the dock so it gets some shade add a little bait you might even get more. this has worked for me
  14. try the Hi Vis i think you will like the way you can find the sight with them
  15. don't forget to tell your buddy to get the net. the use of a net will get all boats within glassing distance to come on in for a pass or two
  16. thats how i would do it Primer first then paint
  17. i just got the brown and tan paint in the spray cans and also got some flat black and made lines that look like cattails. i like to add a few black lines now and then it gives the look of shadows and depth to help brake it up better. it looks really nice over the olive green
  18. i have used bread, dry dog food and field corn with all of them working well
  19. i fogot to load it back in the truck after fishhing it is in a red case. i know it is a long shot at getting it back but you never know. it was left by the road between loon and lake crystal any help finding it would be nice thanks
  20. not sure what you are asking for but all the fish you talked about should be active in a small pond right now

    Shiner Pen

we have used old drier drums over the years to keep bait in. you could use a minnow trap too
