Morel shrooming

Has any one seen any yet? Is this the right time of year to start searching the woods?

I also have a question about shroomin'. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any around the Ely area. My freind from the Falls says there are some up there but I have yet to see any. ><>

I've been told it is too early and too dry. They usually don't show up until early May in Central Mn.

it's a little early for the tastey buggars. if you have any lilacs nearby, they're great indicators. shrooms usually start popping about the same time lilacs bloom. look for grays to pop first, then yellows. since there's almost no more dead elms around, i've been finding them near dead cottonwoods.
