I lived in duluth from 1972 - 1977 and we caught some nice channel cats out of the St Louis River. We shore fished near the Highway 2 Bridge where it crosses over the St Louis River near Brookston. Cut sucker for bait, we would fish from dusk until about 2300. It was a lot of fun but the bugs were overwhelming at times.
