There should be some very good players when we pick #22. A few offensive tackles(Britton, Beatty, Meredith) could be had. Meredith will likely fall into the second round. Cornerbacks are plentiful this year. Some good zone corners will be available(DJ Moore, Alphonso Smith, Darius Butler). There will be a few very interesting wide recievers available also. Big recievers like Kenny Britt, Hakeem Nicks. Fast recievers like Jeremy Maclin and Darius Heyward Bey. Also Percy Harvin should be there as well. He's a cross between a small running back and a wide reciever. Very explosive and dynamic playmaker.

My best guess is we'll take Britton or Beatty if one is there as we need to replace Cook as soon as possible. If they aren't available I see the Vikings picking a cornerback. DJ Moore fits our defensive scheme the best but Alphonso Smith is a very good corner(a little short though). Butler also would work well in our zone scheme and he is a good return man, which we need badly. A wide reciever is a little unlikely with our first pick. Childress doesn't value recievers highly in the first round of the draft. There are a lot of good recievers in this years draft and we should be able to get a quality guy in the second or third round.

With our lack of free-agency signing, the draft is really starting to become very interesting for the Vikes. I really don't know where they plan to go with the 1st two picks. Tackle and corner probably. But...what if Freeman (QB)is still there in the 1st OR 2nd round? What if Sanchez or Stafford fall to us? Why were they looking at Housh? Do they have their center in house? How about our two pro-bowl D-tackles being suspended for 4 games next year? Lot's of questions and only so many relevant picks. Can't really expect too much from a low round draft pick immediately. I would have thought they would have filled at least some of these holes by now but it's been really quite. Weird.
