Keeping your door unthawed

My door on my permanent seems to freeze up quite often - I have a feeling I am not the only one with this problem.

Any advice for combating this? I was thinking about spraying some WD-40 around the seals to see if that works...let me know if there is something I can do.

Try some wax and keep the zipper pulls at the top where you'll have more heat.

I have the same issue in my wheel-house, last time out we bungied the door closed as the latch kept freezing in, was way too cold in the evenigs to deal with. It would always thaw ot during the day.

I to am interested in finding a solution to this problem. Thanks for the post as I forgot about asking after the last trip.

I know it's Off-Topic but I have the same problem. Some days I wish I could just tell her to shut up. I've tried to just leave the room but she is a follower. She'll even follw me into the garage, I purposely turned the heat off out thre and it still hasn't stopped her.

I take care of alot of houses on the lake and Iso. Propal.? in a spay bottle works for most handles. Mark the bottle. We used to use a torch but you walk away and it freezes.

i agree with the vaseline trick ive used it in the past but in the bitter cold i have heard of people having success mixing it with a little anti-freeze

What kind of heater to you have, vented or ventless. If it's a ventless you need to open windows a bit to ventilate as they put a ton of moisture in the air.

I use a graphite spray that works well on the rubber seals, and in the lock as well. I works the best if you spray it on before the moisture gets to it. Haven't had any problems since I have sprayed it on. I do apply a little every now and then just to make sure.

I aimed my furnace at the door at a slight angle helped tremendous olso is your latch pulling your door in tight ? I think one could add more of a seam sealer of some sort two.
