so what different kinds of bait have people tried for cats in MN?

my insomnia tonight had me on youtube watching some vids of people catching wels cats in europe(those big'uns with eel tails in spain and other places), and one bait used by a guide service for both carp and cats there is "halibut pellets". I wonder how many items at your local supermarket's seafood counter would draw in some action.

'Course, I'm rather reluctant to put my salmon or halibut fillet on a hook, there's a limit to sacrificing good dinner for fishing..
