Need older version of Photoshop

Recommended Posts

Can anyone give me some direction? Have an older PC (Windows ME) that has been delegated to the basement. Would like to install Photoshop, but everything on the shelves requires XP or Vista.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hmmmm, not sure which PS version that is. When was your computer brand new? Or rather, how old is it? I've been using PS pretty hard for five years (starting with PS 5 at the newspaper and jumping to CS and now CS2 at home), my wife since the first PS program came out.

I have an unused, unopened version of PS Elements (I think it's Elements 2 or 3) that came with one of my digital cameras a few years back. Are you looking for Elements or the full-blown PS?

Computer was new in 2000. ME was a very problematic system that led to Windows 2000.

Don't need full PS I guess. Probably wouldn't know the difference to be honest with you.

If your version is unopened, it probably says right on the box what OS it will be compatable with.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well, this either came with my 20D back in 2004 or with the newspaper's DRebel in 2003.

It's just a CD in a clear plastic wrap, and it doesn't say anything about which OS version it works with.

I'll see if I can find out if they are compatible and will let you know.

I found out it's compatible as far back at least as Windows 98, so I imagine it'll work with ME, which probably is a bit later than that since you bought the unit in 2000.

Shoot me an e-mail with your addy and I'll drop it in the mail. My e-mail, as always, is in my sig below.

I would think if it works on XP it would work with ME! Although the older Hardware may may make the Program run slow but it should work.

I have friends still running ME and I know I have XP type programs running on their machines.

I'll dig through my old sofware and see if I can't find something!

    • Yeah it was a beatdown

    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
