Merc Thruster mounting plate?

Am looking for a mounting plate {detachable} for a foot controlled merc bow mounted elec. trolling motor. Model RX28 I bought new in 1989. Was one ever availiable? Can't find one anywhere to fit and it's giving me fits cause I just had a new tarp made for my 1700 pro-v and didn't want to make this one to fit over the bow mnt.assumed ...wrongly I could easely find a quick mntng. plate.Any help would be appreciated,Thanks! rhski, i also have that same trolling motor, i bought it used from my brotherinlaw a couple years ago, they also looked all over for a quiek mount but were unable to find one. so i made one out of 2 pieces of aluminum plateing, i mounted one plate to the bow with spacers to get it off the deck then i mounted the other to the motor, the bottom plate has slots in the corners and the top plate has holes in the corners, it mounts together with 4 bolts and wing nuts, seems to work for me. ricbak
