torque spec 15hp Johnson

Hello!

Anyone know what the torque spec would be on the flywheel on a 1974 or so 15 hp johnson. Mine quit running and when I tore into it the key had fractured and the cam was not turning and therefore no spark. I took off the flywheel nut with my fingers and am guessing that is what caused the key to fracture. Thanks in adavance!

wow thanks for the quick reply...any advice on how to hold onto the flywheel and keep it from turning?

I have a flywheel holder. There are other "old school ways". Put it in gear and block the prop with a piece of 2x4, etc.
