I've got a 75hp mariner that is the same block as the 90hp. I was told the same thing, the cost is alot more than one would think. If the motor is fairly new consider trading or selling and buying a new motor. I talked to my mechanic and he rattled off a list of parts it would need, then said I would be better off buying the bigger motor if that's what I wanted. I beleive him since he would have done the work, and I didn't want to buy a new motor at that time. So, he lost out on extra sales due to his honesty. That's why I trust MY marine shop!!
