Has anyone installed a new motor on a boat?
Is it possible or does a dealer have to do it?

If you have in mind a large, bolted-on outboard, I for one would never try to do it myself. I once purchased a new rig and the outboard was mounted too low. You wouldn't believe the water I was able to take on board when I hit the throttle. I took it to another dealer, had him re-mount and lake test the rig, and it ran fine after that.
