Mr. Heater hose assembly. Need Teflon tape?

MNbrewer44

Question

Hey quys got a quick question for ya. I just purchased the hose to hook my Mr. Heater/Cooker to a 11lb LP tank. I was planning on just tightening both ends on and be done with it. My buddy says I need to put teflon tape on connections. I looked in at the packaging the hose came in and could not find anything about teflon tape. I always thought since the 1lb tank just screws on the hose would be the same way. Also wouldn't the LP breakdown the teflon tape anyways creating more problems? Did you guys use teflon tape?

Thanks in advance. I don't want my FT Yukon to turn into a propane fueled spud gun with ME being the spud tomorrow on the ice:)!!!!

I have never used Teflon tape on any of the propane fittings I have screwed together. Now is this right, I do not know, but i have never had a leak issue yet in 20 years of putting togther Mr. heater stuff and other propane stuff.

Good luck..
