colonel42
I bought a camper with two decorative stripes on all four side. 6" to 8" wide X the length of the camper. It has been sitting in Texas and the sun has taken it's tole on them. Cracked and peeling. Tried to pull some off but it just breaks off. Any suggestions on a procedure to take it all off. Chemical?? Heat gun?? Or maybe find something similar and just go over the top of it???
harvey lee
To end up with a very nice finish, I would remove all of the older striping. I would try a heat gun and see as it may work. This might take awhile as the cracks will make you take off smaller pieces but it will look nicer in the end I believe.
colonel42
I spoke with a guy that does body work on cars and he told me this will be a tough project. Since the Aluminum is corrugated. The tape or pinstripe they put on is so weathered and baked on. His suggestion was to mask the old stripe and scrape off loose stuff and just paint it. Valv
As a last resort try with a pressure washer, keep nozzle close to pinstripe, not too close to damage the siding but enough to remove it.I did it a couple of times and worked out good, saved a lot of work. SCUMFROG
I can't remember what it's called but I seen body shops use this eraser thing on a cordless drill to take off pinstripes. Have you thought of re-striping it? w w wbeugler(Contact Us Please)comit's a cool pinstriper I seen at a show. It's not brush, it's a rooler with differnt size rooler heads.
