anyone been out in the Rochester area for cats? Lookin to finally take the cat pole out for a try.

I'm going out tonight on the Zumbro River. I'll let you know how we do. Look for deeper holes with some slackwater.

You can also find cats on the Root River, Chester Woods, and Lake Zumbro.

Hopefully we don't get poured on.

I am in St charles and have fished the root..cats seem to be pretty small there. The Smallie fishin is good but thats about it. Chester..never thought to look there for cats..any size to em? I might try to hit the "sippi if the rain doesn't drown us all

The cats typically get larger on the root as you move closer to the sippi.

Chester has medium to small population of cats, but they usually are LARGE. I heard up to 15lbs with lots over the 8lb mark.

I've honestly never caught a cat out of Chester, nor have I targeted them, so I'm not the best resource.

I've heard stories, and better yet...seen the pictures. They are in there.

I will have to do some research on Chester area then. Any news on any cats being caught on the 'sippi? Thought I'd try that aroudn some feeder streams and cutbanks and brush/stumps
