swfisher
Any suggestions on how to catch crappies/perch when water temps are 38-40 right now and where to fine them?
Kyle Sandberg
I think the water is to cold yet for crappies to be moving up but the perch might be right know. They like the cold water for spawning. As for location, look for them where they were in the winter. Suspended over deep holes or even on the breakline by the breading areas.
fisherdog19
Crappies will be staged in deeper water not very far from thier spawning areas. Depending on the lake, it may be close, it may be far. The most important thing for them now is food, and finding warmer water where food will be. If you can find a shallow dark bottomed bay or flat near thier spawning area, they can slide in and out the shallower water to fee. Hope this helps.
