Well my dad got a new Nikon D80 for x-mas. Every time that he is not using it I have found my self using it all the time. Also seeing a lot of pictures of all of the great photographers on this site.

I am just a rookie so be easy on me. I think it will become another great hobby (like I need one) but it is a lot of fun.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It is a place we are fond of. It's hard not to go back because it amazes you each time you go. No matter how many times you see it, it is still unbelieveable.

The Swell is building. This day they had a high surf warning in effect. Wish I could have gotten a shot of some of the 20-30 ft. waves that the professionals were riding out on a reef break in Hanalei Bay. It is impressive. I just needed someones telephoto. With my 135mm they look like specks.

Yes I think they are. They were at the lighthouse which I believe is a State Park.

As I recall the Nene is the national bird of Hawaii and I do not think that there was any hunting of it. They are a kind of cool looking bird though... I never did see one the whole time I was there. Saw piles of "used grass" but never the fertelizer itself! Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
