The last good quarterback at the "U" was Sandy Stephens in 1961. Hopefully this kid is the real deal.

he is ranked 17th in the nation for Pro-style quaterbacks, I think that says a lot. Should be interesting apparently his younger brother has 1 year left of high schools and is being recruited by Division 1 programs now to play safety after high school, hopefully dad has some of those skills to help move the program in the right direction

Sandy Stephens was the first African American to play quarterback at the University of Minnesota and remains the only quarterback to take the Gophers to the Rose Bowl (1960 and 1961). In 1960, he led the University of Minnesota to an 8-2 record and the national championship. Stephens became the first African-American major-college All-American quarterback and finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy balloting. In 1961, Stephens received the Chicago Tribune Silver Football as the Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Conference.
