Vented lazer-heater?

lancer

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Does anybody have any info on this style of heater for a permanent fish house? Years ago my friend purchased a vented lazer heater for his fish house that works great. The nice feature is that this unit can double as a cooker. The top plate on this heater is perfect for placing cookware. The only info I have have is that this unit was made by a company in St. Paul, MN and later purchased by strikemaster. They no longer seem to produce this unit.

If anyone has any info on this propane heater I would appreciate it.

Im not from cold country like you guys, but i would check with a rv dealer. If you wanted a small heater or 2 I have heard good things about the mr.heater little buddy. A small battery fan would probably double its heating effectiviness.

What kind of information are you looking for? I have one in my permanent and love it. I have not tried sleeping in it but if you do you may want to get a portable CO Detector just to be safe. I know they cook hotdogs real nice in a kettle. It is nice to have the exhaust vent out the roof. I got mine at Mill's a few years ago. I am heading to Strikemaster tomorrow morning so maybe I can ask some questions for you.

lancer, I had one of those in an old fish house. I believe I bought it at Fleet Farm. If memory serves, they are still produced in Minnesota. I just can't remember will. But I did get it at FF about 5 years ago.

The lazer heater and the handi-heater were distributed by strike master until a few years ago. There were some quality control problems and they quit carrying them. They are now made and distributed by HT enterprises in Wisconsin. they advertise in Midwest Outdoors and you can get the number there. I have it at my office and if you email me at [email protected] I'll send it to you

Thank you all for the replies, the one I am looking for is the round one. I am going to check FF's HSOforum and maybe I can locate one there.

DrKen, I will shoot you an email for that info on HT enterpises.

cotfish, what is your email? I might be interested in that heater.

Neiko, if you head to strikemaster see what they have to say about this heater. FF's HSOforum does not show either way whether they still carry these nor does HT's HSOforum. There are not any FF's in the area that I live but I will be heading to the big fishing tourney in Brainerd on the 20th. There is a FF there I can check with.

Again, thanks everyone for the input. Good luck fishing! smile.gif

I have the 15000btu round one. I bought it a couple years ago at The Bobber Shop in mankato. I know that the bobber shop has a web site. You may want to do a search and see if they still carry them.

I was looking around for something else and found the paper work on the lazer heater I have. They are, or were made by:

Timberwolf H.L.T

po box 63

Phillips WI. 54555

PH. 715-339-6462

Hope this helps.

Well, I got in touch with strikemaster and the heater has been discontinued. You guys were right the original manufacturer was Timberwolf HLT but that comapny has gone out of business. Lundeens in Onamia does have a 30,000 BTU model instock but none in the smaller sizes. I am only looking to heat an 8'x10' house. I wonder if some of the smaller units are still out on the market?

I have one and found out that they don't make them anymore. It is very nice to heat up some food on the top but it does take up a lot of space in the house. I cannot recomend to buy one as I you cannot find replacement parts. Direct vent seems to be the way to go but kinda of expensive.

I have the older sportsman model 30,000BTU's in my 8x12 and it has a thermostat. Works great. I know the one at Lundeens also has a thermostat and I thought it was a great buy. If you find an older one and need parts for it, they can be found at Waconia Farm Supply. They rebuilt mine completely about two years ago.

Thanks again to everyone who responded. With the information you all gave me I was able to locate a brand new unit at a local hardware store. Since these units are discontinued I better take care of it.

Happy fishing laugh.gif

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
