Vinyl siding - does it really work? What should a person know before using it, if a person should use it at all?
Thanks!
Sorry about the original post below. What was I thinking?
I've read and heard many times NOT to use vinyl siding on a fish house because it'll crack from traveling. Instead, it's recommnended to use alum. As many of you probably know already, alum. siding is, with few exceptions, a thing of the past. It's pretty hard to find and has a pretty limited color selection, from what I've found anyway.
My question is. Vinyl siding, is it really THAT bad? I'm seeing more and more houses using it and haven't heard anyone bellyaching about it this year. What's up? The fish house that ShawnnyB and I built needs some new skin and I'm really leaning towards trying it, but hate to waste the money on something that may or may not have a high probability of failing on us.
So, any suggestions, comments, experiences out there? I know about overlaping for shrinkage and not to nail it tight to the studs. Other then that, what's there to know? What may help it last?
Thanks! You can see why the fish house needs new skin by checking it out on my site. My nickname (Contact US Regarding This Word). It's really hideous!
