Sifty
With the 9 car winning yesterday I got to thinking.(I know it's about time)Will there every be a driver that comes thought the ranks and turns Nascar into his game. I guess what I mean is you have the rookie drivers that come up and make a splash and then the next year or two they are just there. It seemed like Kasey was going to make a hugh dent in the points with a great rookie year and then dissappeared.Last year Carl Edwards had a great run as a rookie. Will his year be as good this year. Why do you guy's think this happens, is it a rookie that has some great driving talent and drive's extra hard to leave a impression and get's a win. Then the next year they settle in for the long haul with experince and the learning that comes with it.Will Nascar pretty soon have two drivers that are at the top of the cake and then have 41 other drivers that are out there turning laps. Is there a driver that anyone knows of coming thought that is suppose to be the next king?Sifty
wally20
Sifty--I think when their rookies and have that yellow bumper, that most drivers give them room and stay away from them. Then the next year its welcome to the real world. Some get pretty cocky, and the older guys will let it known on the track. Looking back the only guys I remember having good sophmore years are the 20 & 48. Theirs just to many big teams and money for one guy to dominate all the time, plus somethings you can't control-- crashes, tires & motorsjust my thoughts
harvey lee
I agree with wally20,plus the fact that there are so many good teams, that for one driver to dominate in a few straight years is probably impossible. The days of a Earnhardt,Petty,Gordon and Johnson racing the way they did I believe are over. You also have to factor in changes in the crew, including crew chief and drivers leaving for another team.Every Sunday there are 10 different drivers that could possible win.Hard to find success two or three years in a row.
