fisherking32
I don't fish that area, but lookin on a map I would say your bbest bet would be to try just below the dam, North of Redwing. The Mississippi is full of nice cats. I dont know the area, but you can usually get cats right from shore. I don't know what you use for carp, but try a large slip sinker and a circle hook baited with cut bait, nightcrawlers and you should hook into some.Good fishin'
Mr Special
The Cannon River itself has some good cating. Above the dam or below the dam are good spots. There's a park i town near the bridge will have some cats also. Just use a slip sinker rig and cutbait. Look for eddy's or slack water will hold some fish.Good luck
tjmeyer1
justin32,I like to fish the area between Randolph and Nothfield. The road for the most part follows the river in this area and there are many places to get to the river with out having to walk to far. You can email me if you have any questions [email protected]
Hotspotter
My stompin grounds......The Cannon is a good bet for channels. I've had the best luck downstream from Cannon Falls, though this area is most accessible by boat. You can catch those in Byllesby as well, slip sinker and cutbait as mentioned above. The Miss. above and below Red Wing is some prime cat-waters, though difficult to fish without the right boat/gear. Big flats cruise these waters if you can find them. Look for massive logjams/debris, and/or current breaks and entry points from feeder creeks and other rivers. Good luck!!!Joel
