bgfish00
Has anyone had good luck with Trolling Plates for Bigger outbouard motor trolling. I am curious how well they work. I am looking at the Cabelas Hydro Troll. Any other recommendations?
0 Houseboat
I use the "Happy Troller". It is a solid aluminum trolling plate. I've had very good luck with it. I've also used a plastic model with a brass shear pin. Can't say it's much fun trying to change one of those things at night in big waves. I'm running a 115hp Johnson and can get down to 1.3mph on calm water and under 1mph with a slight head wind.
0 Hoyter
I've got a Happy Troller that I used to have on a 140 Johnson. It worked pretty good as long as you don't have to do a lot of steering. I no longer have the motor and don't want to drill into my new Yamaha 150HPDI. If you're interested let me know. randy(dot)hoyt(at)visitams(dot)com
