boat trailer tires

g'eye pilot

Question

Does anyone know if the tires on my boat trailer should be rotated occasionally? I have a shorelander trailer, and an 18' boat. The tires are less than 3 years old, and one side is showing some strange wear. I don't put a ton of miles on the rig - a half dozen trips to Lake Pepin - about an hour one way, and one long haul to LOW each summer.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

You might want to check your tire pressure. too much pressure could cause excessive wear on the tires, As far as rotating goes it couldn't hurt. Off the subject. How is pepin for walleyes. I always wanted to try it but never have.

Thanks Bob...

Pepin is starting to happen right now (I'm heading down there in a matter of hours). The unstable weather is really not helping, as it's been a revolving door of weather systems this week. But I know for a fact that people are still hitting fish. A variety of presentations are working, from jigs, to live bait rigs, to crank baits - basically however you like to catch 'em! It's a great fishery if you're willing to give it a try.
