I have a dipsey diver whose solder broke on the release. I am pretty good at soldering stuff, so I figured why not fix it myself. I have heard you can send them back to the factory, but I figured why not try it myself. I had all the stuff out after putting in some new plumbing (which went without a leak thank you very much Smile ). Try as I might I could not get the solder to stick. I fluxed it, filed it, sanded it, fluxed it and no go. Solder menlts but just won't stick. Rolls off like water on a duck. So, it must be made of some funny metal that needs special treatment to get the solder to stick. Any one have any ideas, or should I just go to the post office?
