buckslayer_101
Never have tried the corkin reffered to by some of you. Could you provide some more info, like rod set-up and tackle prefered. Always interested in a different option when chasing cats.
Canuck
You may be able to search the board as I am sure Eddy has a full description of corkin but here is a short version.Think of bobber fishing for goldeyes and up your equipment for kitties. I like a stiffer rod as you have to set the hook quicker. You are fish normally shallows, flats anywhere from 1 1/2' to 4'. Uses a good inline slip float. The depth of the water depends on your lindy rig. I find it best if my bait is just above the bottom 4"to5", helps in preventing snags. Corking works best at night when the kitties are up on the shallows feeding. Cast up stream and let your bait travel down stream and when the bobber goes down 'rip lips' and hold on. The busting in the shallows is amazing. Some guys put small slip sinkers on their lindys to get their bait down but it depends on the current and depth you are fishing. Play with it and U wont regret it.
