Tree Foliage

I have a question about a tree on our lawn. 20+ years ago I planted a few black walnut trees on our lawn. For some reason, one particular tree always gets so beautiful in the fall compared to the rest of them. Its canopy is full and the leaves turn a bright yellow and it holds its leaves much longer than the rest. The rest of the trees seem to drop their leaves almost immediately when they begin to turn color and so they don't even get to the same level of yellow and they start to look thin.

Anyone have an explanation?

One possibility that I came up with is maybe gender?

Another possibility I've thought about is that this tree is located more out in the open than the rest however, there is one other that is more in the open and it does not do this.

Just curious.

I've attached a photo of it that was taken yesterday.

Makes sense. Your comment about water source is interesting. This tree is close to the well as you can see the white object in the foreground so the water vein is in this area. I suppose it is possible that this tree has tapped into a better supply of water than the rest.

Could be a slightly different species. Could be that one catches the most water from your runoff.

Several possibilties. At the end of the day, trees are kinda like people. They are individually unique.

If you look at a nursery catalog they have named varieties which are often just individual trees with desirable characteristics that have been cloned.  There is considerable variation across a species of tree.   Colorado "blue" spruce is one example.  Some are bluer than others.  Especially blue ones have been propagated as named varieties like "really blue" or like that.
