ION auger question

I have a new ION electric auger. The reverse switch will not stay in the ON position. In order for the auger to go in reverse, it must be held down. The second it is let up it stops. The operators manual doesn't address this. Is this the way it is supposed to work???? Thanks

Love my ION since i have a hard shack. I have the 10" bit and used that up at Red a few weeks ago. i think i got 12-14 holes in 18" of ice when the battery started to tire and the bit was catching more and more. Love it since i primarily fish in the Ice Castle and not out punching 20+ holes a day. The reverse function is a must now. makes it so easy to get the holes cleaned out.
