TCKmaster
I was just wondering what size crappie is good to mount in northern MN????
Spike76
Any crappie with a special experience that you would like to remember, each time you look at it. The experience is more important then the size to me. Smaller fish look better mounted than some of the big ones. If it's special, it's special. Since I was young and watching my grandpa catch crappies, but I couldn't waste the minnows, I've enjoyed catching crappies.

When the crappie boom was on up at Red, I was always going to grab one or two and have it mounted, but I waited for that mythical 15 incher that never came, had lots of 14's, sure wish I would have mounted one. Agronomist_at_IA
I would say 14in + would be mountable.
monstermoose78
Agreed with the story behind the fish. I have seen 12 inchers mounted and they good good as do the 15 inchers. I have group of 3 mounted from my last year in college and they are 14.5, 14.75, and 15.25 inches.
